We are thoroughly enjoying our Kiwiana topic and
researching other countries to see what their lives are
like.
We have utilised our iPads and computers a lot
during this topic and love to go on Google Maps and
‘take a walk’ around the cities and towns in that country.
We have found that many countries are similar, but little
things like police cars, languages and money can be so
different. As part of the kiwiana topic this week we are re-writing the Mitre 10 advertisement about the 3 kids that are 'builing a retaining wall. A very funny ad.
Our Kiwi Sport this term is cricket. We are so lucky to have Jamie come in from Eastern
Sport and teach us. He has lots of great games and skills that we are learning. This is a
wonderful program that runs for seven weeks in total.
We have been swimming during the last couple of weeks
and really like it especially when the pool is 30 plus
degrees.
Eleven of our Team will be representing Edendale at the LMV swimming sports on last Friday and came back with lots of certificates and a cup! Go Edendale!
We have Maori on a Friday and love going to learn with
Whaea Bex. We are learning greetings, songs and how to
introduce ourselves. She makes it really fun and
interesting to learn. We have been learning the Menzies Haka as a treat.
In Team Kahu we have really enjoyed our 'trips' to other countries using Google Earth too! Keep up the great work with the haka - it is sounding awesome! Ka pai! - Mrs Coyle
